A presidential decree was issued appointing Dr. Hisham El-Metwally Steit, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Supply and Medical Supply and the Department of Medical Technology with the rank of Minister, and Dr. Hisham Steit has been serving as Vice President of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Supply and Supply since its establishment.

Dr. Hisham Steit graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University and then obtained a master’s degree in international trade logistics from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, and before assuming the position of Vice President of the Unified Procurement Authority, Dr. Hisham Steit held many positions, most notably the CEO of Al-Jumhouria Pharmaceutical Company from 2018 until 2020.

The presidential decision also included the appointment of Dr. Mahmoud Amr Gad and Dr. Hisham Badr as Deputy Chairman of the Commission with the rank of Deputy Minister.
The Egyptian Unified Procurement Authority (EPA) under the chairmanship of Dr. Hisham Steit continues to seek to develop strategies to ensure the sustainable availability of medicines and medical supplies.
It also works to enhance cooperation with local and international companies to ensure the availability of the latest medical technologies and products in the Egyptian market, which contributes to strengthening the health system in Egypt.
